Our Team

Hamilton Scott

Hamilton graduated from ETSU with both a BS and MS in mathematics. Part of his graduate work was developing interactive online math resources for a local elementary school and organizing their after-school math program. Following graduation, Hamilton worked for seven years in the Georgia Technical College System as both a math instructor and data analyst. Hamilton's calm and approachable demeanor helps him work patiently with students who have a wide range of abilities and backgrounds. He's happy to return to the mountains where he can enjoy hiking and the cool mountain air.

Joanna Greenberg

Raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Joanna graduated in 2018 from Oak Park River Forest High School, where she competed with their Math Team. Currently, she is getting her Associate of Arts degree from A-B Tech. Joanna has experience tutoring privately and in a group style similar to Asheville Math, and she is excited to share the gift of learning with this community. Outside of tutoring math, Joanna enjoys playing guitar, exploring nature, and baking sweets.

Molly Arnn

Molly began working at Asheville Math in 2015, and is now joining as a virtual tutor. She has worked with all ages, from 5 to adult, on a range of topics from K-Precalc, business math to statistics. Molly received her BA in Psychological Science from Vassar College, where she worked on research projects and presented findings at conferences, gaining a passion for statistics. After college, she continued to develop her data analytic and statistical skills in the workplace, from teaching an undergraduate Introduction to Statistics for the Behavioral Sciences lab section at UNC Greensboro, to working as an Analyst for the NYU Stern School of Business. Her goal is to meet students where they are and help them achieve their goals, hopefully having some fun along the way. Outside of math, she enjoys running, listening to music, & taking care of her plants.

Molly is available for virtual only.

Meaghan Lavin

I grew up in New Hampshire with a strong passion for both the outdoors and mathematics. I had fun exploring the lakes and mountains of NH while also finding a love for math when I joined the high school math team. This love for numbers led me to pursue a civil engineering degree from Clarkson University, where I graduated from in 2017. After some time in the corporate world, I decided to drop everything and tackle my biggest challenge to date - the Appalachian Trail! After 6 months of trekking from Georgia to Maine, I decided to relocate to Asheville in early 2024 to further explore the southern Appalachians. This is when I stumbled upon Asheville Math and I'm excited to be part of a great team and help share my love of numbers with the community!

Joseph Natter

Joseph graduated from Wesleyan University in Connecticut with an honor's thesis in physics in 2017. He enjoyed helping his classmates to understand course material, and went on to tutor math and physics at Bluegrass Community and Technical College in Kentucky. After exploring various career fields in healthcare, he decided that his favorite way to help his community is through education, and joined the Asheville Math team in 2022. He loves using vector math to rollerblade around ramps and bowls, and spending time with his elderly Beagle, Dottie.
